TRAFFIC ENGINEERS:

Develop designs from concept through final design for transportation infrastructure. Plan alteration or modification of existing transportation structures to improve safety or function. Evaluate transportation systems or traffic control devices or lighting systems to determine need for modification or expansion. Investigate traffic problems and recommend methods to improve traffic flow or safety. Model transportation scenarios to evaluate the impacts of activities such as new development or to identify possible solutions to transportation problems. Design or engineer drainage, erosion, or sedimentation control systems for transportation projects. Design or prepare traffic plans for new roadways or improvements to existing roadways. Prepare project budgets, schedules, or specifications for labor or materials. Skills required: ArcGIS, Synchro, Aimsun, AutoCAD, MicroStation, Adobe Premiere Pro, Adobe Illustrator, EarthCam, TACTICS, and Quickbase. Master’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering (any), or related, or foreign equivalent with 1 year of experience in the job offered or related occupation is required. CIVIL ENGINEERS:

Develop construction project proposals and prepare cost estimates for materials, equipment, and labor. Conduct studies of traffic patterns or environmental conditions to identify engineering problems and assess potential project impact. Construction Inspection Intern

Fastech Consulting Engineering is a fast-growing Civil Engineering firm. We have an immediate need for a Construction Inspection Intern with strong communication, problem solving and time management skills to join our team.

Responsibilities:

Construction Inspection Intern's primary duties include:

under the supervision of project engineer:

  • Carry out construction inspection assignments
  • Interface with the Contractor and make sure that all construction is done according to the plans and specifications
  • Coordinate with utility companies that may have facilities within the job site
  • Coordinate with and have knowledge of requirements of regulatory agencies
  • Identify problems and propose solutions
  • Utilize standard quantity recording and reporting procedures
  • Able to handle overall inspection of small projects with limited direction/instruction from supervisor. Projects to be in North Jersey.

Qualifications:

  • Civil or Construction engineering under grad in senior year or graduate student
  • Knowledge of ADA curb ramp is a must
  • Strong written, oral, communication, organizational skills will be required
  • Valid driver license required. Must have a car

Responsibilities and Duties

  • The Junior Traffic Engineer will work closely with the Senior Engineers, Project Managers & team members in Midtown NY office. This is an opportunity to interact and work as part of a team servicing Fastech clients, including the PANYNJ.

  • Developing designs, from concept development through final design for transportation infrastructure. This includes roadway widening, Parking lots, pedestrian bicycle, and mass transit facilities.

Qualifications and Skills

  • BS in Civil Engineering from an accredited college with 1-3 years of experience in Traffic Engineering
  • Working knowledge of the MUTCD, HCM, HSM, ITE publications, ADA regulations, and PANYNJ standards a plus.
  • Experience with HCS, Synchro/Simtraffic, AutoCAD, AutoTURN and GuidSIGN software a plus
  • Candidates must possess excellent communication skills (both written and verbal), organizational skills, attention to detail, be proactive in nature, and have exceptional technology

Job Summary

Fastech Consulting Engineering is a fast growing Civil Engineering firm. We have an immediate need of an Assistant Resident Engineer for our client NYCDDC in New York City, who will be reporting directly to the assigned Field Resident Engineer.

Responsibilities and Duties

The duties include:

  • Responsible for administration of construction contract works, and assist the RE with the prompt exchange of correspondence, submittals, and RFI's to all contractors.
  • Orient, assign and supervise the construction inspection staff on a daily basis so that all contractor activities are adequately covered.
  • Supervise and remain vigilant regarding all aspects of the construction activities. Respond with appropriate and necessary levels of construction supervision to provide quality assurance in accordance with contract documents.
  • Coordinate the interface of the construction work with other contractors on the site. Orient inspectors to verify that contractor is following his approved site Health & Safety plan.
  • Review the contractor's progress at all times. Monitor the material incorporated in the work, the materials stored at the site, and the contractor's manpower and equipment.
  • Attend weekly, monthly, and other progress meetings held at the site as required by the SRE. Identify constraints and recommend corrective measures.
  • Review inspector's daily reports and preparation of engineer's daily diary, and general oversight of inspector's daily activities including works assignments, on-site performance, and guidance on the supervision of the contractor's operations.
  • Coordination with contractor's supervisory personnel regarding schedule, sequence, and method of work.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Qualifications for the Assistant Resident Engineer should include the following:
  • BS Engineering from an accredited college.
  • 5+ years experience in construction inspection or management of infrastructure construction projects including Roadway Improvements/Streetscapes/Water Mains/Sewers etc. Experience with NYCDDC is a plus.
  • Strong written, oral, communication, organization skills will be required.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, Microsoft Project and related PC software packages used in design and construction projects

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Coordination with stakeholders, constituents, project team, and contractors
  • Handling of local concerns, inquiries, and complaints
  • Review the plans and specifications for the construction contract(s).
  • Organize and arrange for a walkthrough of the Project.
  • Assess the negative impact on the community of the project.
  • The CCL shall develop, maintain and keep a current calendar of significant community events including Ethnic/Religious Festivals, Street Fairs, Marathons, Parades, Play Street Closing and Block Parties/Celebrations.
  • Develop a Community Notification Network, identifying key community institutions and organizations by name, association, and address.
  • Preparation of informational materials, including construction notices and electronic communications
  • Preparation of project-related press releases, news, responses to media inquiries.
  • Keep field office records regarding community interaction, including without limitation, complaints received and all correspondence, meetings, and task force minutes.
  • Qualifications and Skills
  • Diploma or Certificate in Communication, Social Work, or Business Public Relations Field. Any experience in Engineering, Construction Management is a plus
  • Minimum of two (2) years’ experience
  • Experience working with for NYC Agencies such as NYCDDC, NYCDEP, MTA and/or PANYNJ is a plus
  • Experience managing public relations, schedules, and community meetings
  • Proven excellence in public interaction and must have strong communication skills
  • Experience in addressing issues essential to minimizing construction impacts on community quality of life and supporting timely project completion
